Brighton would have been a year old today.
I think about what this year has brought us - the ups - the downs - the pain - the hurt - the joy - the happiness. It's been a roller coaster.
We are thankful to God for every single thing He has opened our eyes to - every single thing He has had us experience. Throughout this process and its moments - every up and down - every unknown, fear and concern - every praise and joy - our relationship and trust in God has grown tenfold.
And we are so thankful...
Listen to the lyrics in the song below. It took me a couple of months to be able to listen to this song after Brighton went home - but they speak to our hearts and do a great job of conveying exactly how we feel.
We miss you Brighton. We'll hold you at some point son...

This is a beautiful tribute, with such a perfect song. Thanks for continuing to share your story with us. It is a gift, an inspiration, and a call to action.
The tribute to your son is beautiful. I am so blessed by the fact that you celebrate his sweet, short life as an every day part of your lives.
Happy Heavenly First Birthday Brighton!
What a beautiful song and a wonderful tribute to Brighton, so sweet.
May I ask the name and artist of that song?
Happy Birthday, Brighton.
Beautiful song for a beautiful boy.
Brighton is enjoying his first birthday with Jesus--wow. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

Happy Birthday Brighton. We hope he is having a great party in heaven.
Cathy, Keith, Lennah, and Delylah
Simply Beautiful!!! It is amazing how many lives he touched in such a short time.
What a beautiful tribute to such a sweet baby boy who has a part in the story of God bigger than his little body and parents who have hearts bigger than their pain who will use this for God's greater good. Brighton was here for a reason and you get that... amazing!
What a beautiful tribute. I think you guys are amazing and I love you! Stacy
so sweet. There is a reason for it all. God bless you and your family.
I think Sophonias and Brighton are having one serious party together! Looking back, I wonder how we arrived at this point. It is amazing!
Happy Birthday Brighton,
Mary
That is beautiful, as I imagine Brighton's Birthday was for him in heaven. He was blessed to have you as parents, as you were blessed to have him as your son.
I must have picked up on your adoption story after this... I had no idea a sweet boy named Brighton was a part of your story. I loved the video.. What a sweet little boy!
Happy Birthday Brighton. Give Jesus a hug for me. (Hugs!)
