It Ain't All Fun and Games...

Truth be told - it really IS almost all fun and games. Meron has been a blessing and a ridiculously easy child. But every now and then - we mess the whole thing up as parents!

This weekend we were on a whirlwind trip to NC to see some family. Saturday was a long day of playing and visiting for Meron. She had an absolute blast and hopefully brought some sunshine to some people.

But after being prematurely brought out of her "car nap" not once, not twice - but THREE times... she let us know that she adhered to a strict "3 strikes" policy and she was invoking it pronto!

Duly noted sweet girl! We will try not to schedule you like that again!

What It Means To Us

This kind of sums up what Africa means to us - big ole place in our hearts for that land! We saw this on our friend's blog and had to try it out... pretty neat!

Better Recognize!

We have our final social worker visit and update tomorrow. Well - Ethiopia requires them until Meron is 18 (I think that's so cool) - but now we'll get to start preparing them and turning them in ourselves.

We had to get some photos printed to turn in with our report and it just got me thinking about how much ground we've covered and how much we've been privileged to walk through with God in the past year or so.

And how much our little trooper has grown up!!

I wonder if they'll even recognize her back in Ethiopia?!

Back On the Charts...

Meron had her next milestone check up this past Friday. And as much as we don't put much stock in those stupid charts - I gotta admit we were a little anxious going in.

See - last time - while daddy was flying solo on the visit - our doc kinda scared the parent outta me. I thought I had broken our girl. She used words like "obese" and "watch her diet" and "cut out the milk."

Long story short - she never really even looked at Meron - just at the paperwork - and didn't ask about her diet or anything. Just proceeded to scare me to death. She may as well have jumped out of the Sharps Needle container wearing a Freddy Krueger mask. Would have scared me less.

But this time? Oh this time we won buddy. Take that doc! And the prize? More daily milk for our girl. Way to wow them Meron!!

She Rocks Rough and Tough...

I was sitting in my office this morning when I heard the pitter patter of tiny feet and Laura whispering "Go show daddy..."

Around the corner came Meron rocking the cutest hair do to date. We've been waiting for her hair to grow long enough to be able to pull it up. It's finally there.

Holy cow - our little girl is growing up on us!

What's A Sheep Say?

I ♥ Faces - Easter!

It's time again for the weekly "I ♥ Faces" photo.

This week's theme was "Easter." We had a ton of fun with Meron this Easter - she has no clue what Peeps are yet - but give her some time. Daddy will help her understand.

Check out the "I ♥ Faces" site for tons of cool and amazing photographs!

Spring Is in the Air (literally)

The pollen count in GA is nuts. I mean it's outta control. It has us all wheezing, sneezing, coughing, itching - you name it.

Poor Meron's little feet aren't even safe.

Friends, More Friends and Eggs

Today we got the chance to meet up with some more of our extended prayer warrior team. Aunt Stacy's best friend was driving through Atlanta with her family on their way home from Florida and we got the chance to meet up for lunch. Thanks guys for following along on our journey - we had a great time hanging out with you today!

Next it was off to Meron's very first official easter egg hunt at our church. And it was extra special because our good friend's M and N'D showed up! We hadn't seen them in a long time and it was great to hang out with them for a little bit.

With all the candy and eggs collected - it was time for Meron to do what Meron loves best... run around!

It was a long day full of lots of fun - all done on only a 30 minute car nap! Meron - ya did good girl!
