Recommendation on the trike/bike thing...try a strider bike (aka run bike). Its a mini bike with no pedals. It teaches toddlers the mechanics of riding a bike and helps you skip training wheels down the road. See this link for some cool footage of 2-4 year olds tearing it up on striders.
