We had lunch with our good friends Chad, Indie and Cooper today.These guys were a big support during our journey to Meron - and some charter members of our prayer team.
Indie wanted to hold "Baby Meron" and Laura was totally game for a great photo op. We warned Indie not to be decieved by Meron's tiny frame - that she really packed some weight.
I think she finally understood...

The Past Year...

As January comes to an end we can't help but look back at the last year in awe and amazement. Our lives took so many twists and turns. We had a few unexpected falls that actually ended up being giant leaps for us. God grew us so much this past year. In our relationship with Him. In our relationship with each other. In our family.
That graphic up there kind of sums up our year. I am sure we missed some things in there - a LOT went down.
And then of course there are these pics down below here - showing us daily what a gift from God looks like in the flesh. What a year.
I wonder what 2009 has in store?

Happy Birthday Mom Ma!
Today was Laura's birthday - or as Meron calls her - "Mom Ma." I don't tell her often enough but I am married to absolutely the most wonderful person in the world. God made her years before we knew each other but He knew we'd be together. NUTS!! I sometimes wonder if she wishes she had some say in that?!
Anyways - we love this girl in this household - she holds us all together and we'd be nothing without her! When Meron and I prayed this morning before breakfast we thanked God for the incredible mom, wife and friend He has given us. We know we have been blessed.
We snuck away to have lunch with her today and it was fun just hanging out as a family. Then when she got home we hung out some more.
Happy Birthday Laura/Mom Ma!!
(Happy Birthday to Uncle James too! He and Mom Ma share the same birthday!)

Hey Ladies... Get Funky!
This morning I wasn't met with the typical "Meron Morning Rally Cry" but rather my ears were treated to this coming through the monitor:
"I got franks and pork and beans,That's right - our girl was representing some Beastie Boys. Apparently she had found out this year was the 20th Anniversary of what is arguably the best album ever put out on wax - Paul's Boutique - and she was celebrating.
Always bust the new routines;
I get it - I got it, I know it's good,
The rhymes I write - you wish you would;
I'm never in training - my voice is not straining,
People always biting and I'm sick of complaining..."
Shhh! Don't tell her she was singing something from Licensed to Ill - she'll be upset.
So today we decided to represent bboy style in honor of an album that defined daddy's life for - well - a good 20 years! After pulling out her extra crazy daddy-dope Beasties Shirt (thanks Grahams) Meron looked at me and said:
"Scrabble dabble dee - WOOO! Babababa Mama da mmmmmm whoot zippy doo ZEEPABA ziiiing!"And then she barked like a dog.
I agree girl, I agree. They need to stick to writing fresh rhymes and leave politics to the folks in D.C. But 20 years of greatness is still worth celebrating!

Get Out Ya Seat and Jump Around...
With Tech closed today to celebrate MLK Day - Laura got the rare opportunity to hang out with us on a Monday. Meron loves when this happens and so do I.
Last time Meron and I hit KangaZoom sans Laura - so we made an impromptu decision to head over there so mommy could jump around a bit with Meron.
We all had a blast and Meron slept like Rip Van Winkle in her afternoon nap.
