Sleepy with a Dash of Black-Eye
Meron took a tumble last week at school and clocked her eye. At first it was just a little cut on her face - but as the week went on she started looking like she had tussled with Rocky.
Toss in a bit of sleepiness and we had one beat-up looking light-weight on our hands! Still smiling though!

Sense of Humor
Sense of humor... is that "nature" or "nurture" I wonder...??
I am hoping it can be taught - cuz I wanna be schooled by this girl! Her sense of humor cracks me up daily!

Slip Sliding Away
The other night while we were having "family fun night" in the "almost finished" playroom - Meron came to the realization that slippers are... well... slippery!

Training Day
Laura is running her next half-marathon in December with some friends and she's about to jump back in to official training here soon. She is taking it REAL serious and getting a little weight training in before the official start!
We're rooting for ya Mommy! We know you'll do great!

Yankee Pride
Meron had to show the peeps on the playground where her alliances were this weekend...
2 out of 3 at Fenway? She was happy with that!

Rollin' Rollin' Rollin'
We decided to switch up the running routine on Friday and instead strapped on the inline skates and hit the trails with Meron in B.O.B. She loved it - it's so much faster than running and she has a blast.
But true to Meron's adventurous self - she wasn't gonna be happy if she couldn't try it out. After several runs back and forth in the parking lot and a whole lot of "More?" and "Pweese?" - it became obvious that somebody will be getting their own skates sometime soon!

Can Ya Pray With Us?

This morning we were anxious - we were praying for our good friends, Team Alexander. Today was a special day. It was their court date (and not their first). They had been having some issues getting through court and today was really important - they were back in court on the LAST day that court would be open before shutting down for the rainy season.
They didn't clear court today - and our hearts were breaking for them this evening. We know this pain they are feeling. This out of control wait is full of pain.
I don't have enough room on all of the web to tell you how much this incredible family means to us. They've cruised right up beside us and prayed us through some tough times - and we fully plan to do the same thing for them.
Can you say a prayer for these guys? Please...?

Hair-do Rodeo...
I love Meron's hair. Simply love it. Maybe it's cuz I am follically-challenged... i dunno. I just love hers.
But I stink at "doing" her hair. I need to work on it. I want to be better at it. But for now - when it's hair-do time - I am relegated to playing the role of rodeo clown - donning striped pants and running back and forth in front of her to distract her while mommy knocks out the "do."
I'll get better Meron. I promise!

God Found Us You

After an awesome date night (thanks Granny!) Laura and I found ourselves wandering through Barnes & Noble. I wanted to score "Where the Wild Things Are" because I am all about seeing that movie when it comes out... can't wait!
But as He usually does, God had slightly different plans for our visit. Oh - He let me snag "Where the Wild Things Are," no worries there. But not before leading us to the awesome book that Meron is holding in the picture above.
Laura and I snatched up God Found Us You and started reading feverishly. When we finished I looked over and there were tears streaming down her face. This book got it! It nailed it! It really spoke to the uniquely created families that are born through adoption. We LOVE it!
In the simplest and gentlest way this book details Mama Fox telling Little Fox how they came to be a family. How God put them together forever. It touches on the dreaming, the waiting - and even addresses some of the pain. It made me excited about the day we can share this story with Meron.
If you have adopted and wonder how you'll talk to your child about your uniquely made family - this book is a great start! And if you haven't adopted but would like to introduce your child to the fact that families are put together in all kinds of unique ways - this is a great book for you too!
Big, giant kudos to the author - Lisa Tawn Bergren - for putting together such a touching and happy story to help ease what could potentially be a hard discussion to have! We'll be reading this one regularly and I am now looking forward to sharing this awesome story of God's idea for our family with Meron when the time is right!

Cousins! Cousins! Everywhere...
Sammy wasn't the only cousin getting some Meron-loving! She had a blast hanging out with all of her cousins. These guys mean so much to us - and it was an awesome blessing to see Meron loving them and hugging all over them!
Thanks guys for tolerating our crazy little tornado!
