Ask The Lady

We hit Publix as a family tonight and as usual - as soon as we pulled in the parking lot and Meron saw the sign she started saying "Ask the lady!" - in Meronese that means "I'd like to ask the kind lady working in the bakery for the free sugar cookie she always gives me."

As Laura was contemplating whether it was too close to dinner for Meron to have a cookie, the sample lady caught her eye...

"Ooooh - samples!" she said and darted that way. Meron got her cookie too. I know for sure where she gets it.

I'm not sure which one likes trips to Publix more...

Oh, the Publix bakery. Tonight's cookie for Sheridan had PINK FROSTING on top. You would have thought he had won a million dollars when the lady handed him that one!

One of the things I do like about the bakery is that it has taught Sheridan to really use his manners and have a conversation. The two Publix we use know Sheridan and 'require' him to talk to them and then, using his manners, ask for a cookie. Gotta love the South!!!

okay, too funny! It just occurred to me...How many people do you see around publix snapping pictures? :-) The thought just makes me smile.

Yea! Like mother like daughter!

I guess it's been a while since I visited your blog because WOW Meron has grown so much!

BTW, I wanted to ask you. Meron is an Ethiopian name isn't it? I love it, and have it on my list of names I love. I'm curious if you know the meaning of the name.

What? Publix has FREE cookies. Seriously? Why has nobody shared this little tidbit of deliciousness!?
