Lately we have been so focused on raising a "well-behaved" child that we seemed to have kinda lost touch with what was actually going on. Truth is this - 95% of the time Meron is an absolute angel who uses her manners, is respectful, shares, plays well with others, listens, etc...
We had been letting the few bad days override all the joy she brings us. No more I say! Tonight was one of those nights that just kinda jar ya back to reality. Meron was a precious little angel. Laura went running and Meron and I ran some errands (complete with Snow White princess outfit she insisted on wearing) - and man... she was so well behaved and sweet and loving.
It bought her the opportunity to stay up late and watch some of "A Bug's Life." She had her mommy, her PJs, her slippers and her buddies (what she calls the crazy trio of Buzz, Woody and Yellow Guy) and she was way content. I don't think she gets happier than this.
We love you Meron - and both mommy and daddy think you are doing GREAT at this thing called life! You're teaching us a LOT!

I have to remind myself that "well behaved" does not mean perfect.
I recently took a class and they said something that really struck a cord with me. When we teach a child math we expect to teach, and re teach. We are not surprised when we have to use several styles and methods to teach one math concept. We should have the same attitude when we teach behavior. Somehow we ( as a society) have a mind set that we teach behavior once and the child should have it.
those photos are so precious; those cozy close moments are priceless arent they.
