Daughter of a Heavenly King

Meron's room was originally going to be Brighton's room. It had already been painted and set up for him. And we kept it that way because we didn't want to just paint over what was meant for him. And we couldn't empty out the top dresser drawer full of his clothes either. So there has always been a big blue and brown stripe around the middle of the room along with a lack of drawer space. And Meron has always loved it.

But as she grows older and starts to lay claim to her room we want her to feel like it is her place - and what better place to start than with her big girl bed. So instead of a headboard - we put this cool wall-thingie-majiggie over her bed.

I love it. Mommy loves it. And so does Meron. And I absolutely love what it says because she absolutely is.

Meron often will look up at the big picture of Brighton on her wall and just smile or say "Brighton!" And sometimes she will want to pull open the top drawer and look at his clothes. She doesn't fully get the whole thing.

But one day she will know all about him. And she will know she shares a room with him. And shares a middle name with him. And shares our hearts with him.

But for now - I'm pretty sure she's just digging growing in to her own room!

We lost our first daughter, right after she was born, and all of her younger siblings talk about her and know about their big sis. They talk about seeing her in heaven one day. I think it is an important thing to do to remember and not just act like it never happened.
