The Mother of All Mothers

Merriam-Webster defines "mother" with a couple of good definitions:

1 : a female parent

Yep - Laura has that one on lock-down.

2 : maternal tenderness or affection

Yeah - she has that one nailed too. This is just how I see her regularly... an outstretched hand to help lead her girl(s) along. Awesome.

3 : something that is an extreme or ultimate example of its kind especially in terms of scale [the mother of all construction projects]

I may be coming from a place of partiality but I think she has this one covered too! She is owning this mommy thing. I mean - OWNING it. In my book - she's the mother of all mothers!

It started with the way she loves Brighton. And I say "loves" in the present tense because her love for him grows every single day. I ADORE this in her. Adore it...

And then there's the love she IS for Meron. She is such an exceptional model for Meron - I couldn't ask for ANYTHING or ANYBODY better for Meron to look to, to watch, to mimic, to model and to grow up to be like.

And trust me - that is ALL Meron wants to do!

And now - a little girl sits in a transitional home in Ethiopia - and I am pretty sure that she can feel the love for her just OOOZING out of her mommy from halfway across the globe. We just need to get LH3 home so she can feel this love in real time!

Yep - she is top notch in my book! She has redefined what it means to me to "be a mom" and I am BLESSED to be in this game with her!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the moms out there who are sacrificing, teaching, disciplining, holding their tongues when its hard to, showing compassion, modeling Christ and being unwavering anchors for their little ones through their every day actions and words. You guys are impacting a generation that can make change in this world!

Your lovely wife is one of the most beautiful women in this world. I've thought so since the day I found your blog 1.5 years ago. She grows more and more beautiful each year, and while part of that beauty is physical no doubt, she also radiates joy and life and peace and love that really brings out true beauty.
