This Is For Ethiopia

Today after church I was in the children's hall waiting in line to get Meron when I heard:

"Mr. Tymm! Mr. Tymm!"
I spun around and was handed this from one of Meron's friends:

Here - take a closer look:

It's a Tic Tac container with her Sunday offering in it. As she handed it to me she said:
"Here Mr. Tymm. This is for Ethiopia. To feed the babies."
Her dad was with her and he said she had decided she wanted to give it to us to help feed the kids.

In Matthew 11:25, Jesus says:
""I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children."
Sometimes we just need to be reminded of how simple it really is. Taking care of those who need to be taken care of. Kids get it. This 4.5 year old friend of Meron's gets it.

I needed that simple reminder today. Sometimes - in the busy-ness and rush of fundraising and following up and advocating we fast-forward right past all of these beautiful, simple moments that God puts right in front of us.

Thankful today for a long line in the children's church that forced me to slow down and be there and present for a beautiful act of kindness from the ones He loves so much.

This stuff - this young awareness and heart change and passion - is a HUGE part of why we do what we do.

And it makes us SMILE!

Striving every day to be more like those little children.

Just great, no tears putting the kids on the bus, but then I read this! Love love love seeing the impact you are having on children even right here in your own church :) Changing lives my friend.
