Orphan Sunday 2012

Today was Orphan Sunday. Mebbie breaks it down for us in the video up there.

And even though EVERY SINGLE DAY is a day we pray for and think hard about orphans around here - this was a day we embraced as a way to encourage the Church to get involved. To think about orphans. To pray about orphans. To just do... something.

We were so blessed by the girls getting to help us out as we handed out cards detailing some ways to get involved at both services today at church. And then tonight - during our family prayer time - Mebbie dropped these gems on us:

"God - thank you for the orphanages in Ethiopia and be with the kids there until their mommies can come get them. And Lord, please make some of those shoeboxes make it there to give those kids some joy. Jesus name. Amen."
She never, ever ceases to amaze me.

Praying that today - across this nation - some more hearts were touched and seeds were planted in this battle for the orphan...

Oh my goodness, she is so cute! I hope that because of Mebrate lots of people will pray for orphans, think about orphans and maybe even 'dopt some orphans.
