Race Day!

They got new shoes. They got new bright jerseys.

They focused and trained hard at practice...

And finally it was here... RACE DAY!

After a quick team photo...

and some easy warm up jogging...

They headed to the starting line full of anticipation and excitement mixed with a little bit of nervousness.

Then it was "On your mark... get set... GO!"

And they were off!

I love that their first real race was in the shadows of the Rockies at around 7,000 feet! They're gonna be so much better at this than I EVER could be!

Pretty soon they were heading up the last leg towards the finish line!

I can't tell you how excited I was for them for sticking to it!

I mean - both my girls were leaving some boys in the DUST!

Then it was the water line to recoup and recover...

and to get their coveted finisher's ribbon!

Meron had named their running duo eFART - Ethiopian Fast Action Racing Team - and they just pulled off their first race!

Girls - mommy and daddy couldn't be any prouder!

keep running eFART... KEEP RUNNING!

Love the name of the racing team! I have a couple of Ethiopians who could join that team for a couple of reasons! Great job girls.
