Herman's Mountain

We took advantage of a day off with gorgeous weather to go explore a new area (to us at least) - the Mount Herman area.

I love going hiking with this hottie...

And this cutie...

And this smiley gal...

And this little guy trying to hide in the tall grasses!

We like to keep it exciting so we make sure and try to find these places to hike...

KIDDING!

Meron saw this and was ready to get back in the car!

We're working on that with them - understanding and respecting nature and realizing we can all go enjoy it without bugging each other...

And I mean - seriously - the threat of mountain lions is worth it for views like this!

We even managed to score a family shot - which is rare with us - but the timer thing worked out well this time...

Of course - with it being MLK Jr. Day - the work of that great man was never far from our mind.

We spent a LOT of time talking about him, our family and the paths he blazed for families like ours to be able to even exist.

And then Meron did a little reciting of some of his speech...

I ain't gonna lie - hearing this little girl - repeat that great man's words...

Well - that got me a bit.

Thankful today - for incredible mountain views, hikes without lions... and Martin Luther King, Jr.

This video of Meron is amazing. I think it should go viral. This rendition of MLK's legendary speech is so good I have no words to describe it. No words. Just watch. This little girl is so talented and her speech is so glorious and joyful, I want to listen to it every day of my life. I've recently been recovering from a bad patch with surgery complications and feeling very down. Thanks,in part to watching this little masterpiece, I have my verve back!!!!!!
