Our plans to party like it was 1999 kinda got foiled when Z-Dogg woke up with an ear infection and I woke up feeling like someone had shoved 16 rolls of mega sized Charmin up my nose.
We didn't want our good friends catching any of our funk - so we had to call the shindig off.
But that didn't mean we could't still party... and party we did!
Laura cooked a big ole spread of food - Meron made cookies and we got our New Years Eve eat on!
There isn't a crazier crew that I would wanna roll through this life with than these guys...
Here's to 2016 and the adventures it's bound to bring!

This girl right here was the lone Hoffman not feeling under the weather today...
So as we all tried to rest and recoup - she bundled up and headed out into the COLD weather to try out her new Razor Scooter!
I snuck out and grabbed a few pics of her getting her scoot on!
It was super cold - so her time was short lived (her fingers were FREEZING)...
But judging from the look on her face... the scooter was a hit!

A week ago we piled in the van and headed out to spend Christmas with family.
And tonight - 9 states (North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Colorado) and 3,200 round-trip miles later - we pulled back in to home sweet home!
We had some dogs who were CRAZY EXCITED to see us!
Trips like that can be tough on the immune systems - we've all been fighting off some stuff like crazy coughs - the hotel room last night sounded like a 5 piece coughing orchestra!
Tonight - the fever that Z was experiencing on the road was handed off to Meron... low grade - but she was feeling wiped out when we got home...
Cider - Merons furry little homie - was there for her though. She jumped right up on the couch and snuggled her head over Meron's feet.
It brought smiles to everybody's face - including Meron!
Our visit was awesome but we're all happy to be home and looking forward to a few days of resting and recovering!

This dude right here is displaying EXACTLY how we all feel right now...
After driving 13 hours today - 5 of which were in weather like this (that has moved North now) with blowing torrential rain and flood waters so high the roads were almost shut down...
We got to our hotel - safe and sound but SPENT - checked in - headed out for dinner, wandered around a local mall for some exercise - and then came back and CRASHED!
There's a whole lot of deep snoozing happening right now because 2 days and 1,600 miles is a CRAZY tough trip... and we're only half way to home!
But when I saw these two together - knowing how much spending this time together meant to these two...
I am reminded of how worth it that this crazy trip was!

Sometimes - when in the land of Grannyville - you make a delicious spread and throw a fabulous tea party for no other reason than... YOU CAN!
We had multiple queens in our presence - the Queen of Ethiopia on the left and the Queen of America on your right...
My partner in crime (i was the court jester and the appointed photographer) - Sir Toots a Lot - a famous knight who rides a dragon named Jophes that is both 2 years old and 4 years old at the same time - escorted the ladies in - starting with Madam Granny.
Next he brought in the Precious Princess of Pinkington...
Followed by the esteemed Queen of Ethiopia...
and the fabulous Queen of America.
There were many toasts to be had.
Much food to be eaten.
And secret conversations that shall remain... uh... secret.
All in all - this fabulous tea of the highest degree was an amazing success.
Until next time... stay royal!

There's a reason Jesus encouraged us to be more like children.
To pray like them.
To have faith like them.
To come to Him like them...
This crazy group of cousins haven't seen each other in like 2 years or more...
When they got together today - ya know what happened?
AWESOMENESS... that's what!
No complaining about the distances between them...
Not even a single acknowledgment of the fact that their skin shades cover the full spectrum of beauty...
Nope... just hugs, squeals and tons of playing.
As it should be.
As He wishes we all would be.
Dope little cousins... thanks for being so awesome.
Adults around the world - let's try to be more like the kids in our lives.
The world will thank us for it!

So many different traditions and ways of celebrating this time of year...
And while we have had a TON of FUN with things like our elf (Ralph) who visits nightly, our own Zechie Elf doing silly pictures, the mysterious tradition of Santa Clause, cookies, lights and small gifts...
There is only one reason we are celebrating this season.
This birth means nothing if the subsuquent death and resurrection never occurred. But it did.
And that's exactly why this celebration of a baby born means a LOT to those of us who believe what we believe.
Confused on it all? I was too. For like 34 years.
Holler at anybody in our family if ya ever have doubts or questions ya feel like ya can't ask - we love to talk about the saving grace He gave us all.
However you celebrated this day - I hope the ridiculously undeserved yet saving love and grace of Jesus was felt abundantly by you and yours.

'Twas the night before Christmas...
And tomorrow this crazy dude will be leaving us for the season!
We're gonna miss the funny antics of our crazy little elf!
But let's not get the cart before the horse... for now...
Merry Christmas to all... and to all a good night!

A few years back we started struggling with the cost of sending out Christmas Cards. If we really sent a card to everybody we wanted to - it'd cost a fortune - and when we weighed that against things like formula and stuff... well, we just couldn't swallow it.
And honestly - we're just kinda super bad at those kind of timely postal things (ask ANYBODY in our family)...
So there will be no Camp Hoffman Christmas Card in the mail again this year... BUT WAIT - we got something better for ya!
We know adult coloring books are all the rage now - so we took it a step up and made ya an adult craft for the next time it's snowy and ya just wanna curl up in front of the fire with some hot chocolate, some glue and a pair of scissors.
It's the DIY Camp Hoffman Christmas Card!
So break out the scissors and Elmers - and you're about one minute away from receiving your very own Camp Hoffman Christmas Card!
To all those out there that we have received awesome cards from on time and all nicely done... WE SALUTE YOU - and we're jealous of your efficiency and timeliness!
Enjoy our much lazier version here!

Right now these guys are nestled, all snug in their beds - while visions of sugar plums dance in their heads... but in just a short few hours this crazy trio right here will be bum-rushing the living room early on.
Why, you ask?
That's easy... tomorrow is Colorado Christmas!
See - this year we're heading cross country to North Carolina and that's where we'll be celebrating on the 25th.
But everyone in our crew is dead set on preserving our family traditions too - so we're just bumping it up a few days and looking forward to celebrating the birth of Jesus TWO TIMES this year!
Happy Night Before Colorado Christmas, everybody!

This girl right here... she can fall asleep absolutely anywhere.
Like the living room couch at our friends' house.
Her ability to crash and get the sleep her body needs is something I have always envied about her.
That... and the way she rocks her cheetah pants and fuzzy, furry Hell Kitty slippers.
Rock on, Meron. Rock on.

I love when Laura gets the time to dive in and do Mebski Love's hair a little different for her...
It makes her SO HAPPY!
It's crazy that something like sitting in the tub for 2 hours and getting this awesome set of braids done up can bring her such joy...
BUT IT DOES!
When she came out - wearing a beaming smile - I ran and grabbed the camera and snapped away. I asked her, "Mebbie, do you like it?"
She just beamed even bigger and said:
"Daddy, I LOVE it!"
Way to go Mommy... i love the way you make our girls feel like the princesses they are!

Yeah - sometimes they act like brothers and sisters do - he annoys her and she tries to parent him...
But the way they love each other is so awesome to watch...
Keep loving each other, guys. KEEP LOVING!

I love absolutely everything about this girl. EVERYTHING.
From her hair to her heart to her smile to her ways of loving...
She is LOVED deeply by me.
And then there's her goofy side...
Totally adore it.
Thank you Meron... for coming along when my heart needed you most and helping fix it and pave the way for its future...

Not sure if ya have wandered over to my Facebook page lately - but we have our own version of the Elf on the Shelf going down daily now. It's a bunch of goofy fun!
Here are a few outtakes of how we found him this morning...
He was cutting it up something proper!
He had a pretty proper mic grip too!
And he appeared to know how to work a crowd!
Way to go Zechie-Elf... your taste in tunes is outta this world!
Come see what the elf is up to tomorrow!

Granny and the Goofball Gang got to hang out together the other night and decorate a gingerbread house.
It came out looking great - and I just needed one photo.
This one wasn't it....
Well... this one wasn't either...
Third time's a charm?
NOPE! Crazy eyes prevailed...
This was as good as we were going to get I think...
Great job guys... thanks Granny for being awesome!
