Rolling Rolling Rolling

This sweet girl has been bugging me daily for a bike ride...

We got rained out recently and when I walked in from work today I was greeted with her gigantic smile and this question:

"Is today rain check day?"
Indeed it was!

I cherish these rides - i love just chatting and cruising and seeing her smile!

And she's never not goofy!

She must have thanked me 55 times and told me how fun it was over and over and over...

I absolutely love riding with her!

Trust me Meron - this ride meant even more to daddy!

Two Teeth Lighter

I know we shared that Z-Dogg had lost a tooth recently - but here he is feeling pretty darn special because...

Yep - we got us a gap tooth 5 year old these days!

He was so worried about it falling out because:

"Daddy - what if all my food squishes out through there...?"
No worries Zechie... i think you'll be safe!

He's growing up quick this goofy one... and his lack of teeth is proving it!

Good luck eating and talking Z-Dogg!

Waiting For Daddy!

When I pulled in from running this evening - I came home to these two cuties roaming the street...

Laura told me that Meron said:

"We're going to go outside and wait for Daddy..."
And she had been patiently waiting out there for 30 minutes!

I love these two together... and I love how much they love each other too!

They keep me smiling!

And I know Cider loves Meron a LOT because she tolerates Meron's head lock kisses pretty darn regularly!

Girls... you are a couple of gorgeous creations of God and I love ya!

Stay hairy, furry and awesome!

She's a Connector...

So - I know I don't celebrate this gorgeous girl near enough on this blog... but today as we celebrate two years since she went under the knife to remove some cancer that God decided to remove before the surgeons got in there - I figured it was a great time to big up my very best friend!

This girl right here is a bona fide connector.

What do you mean by that, Tymm?

It's easy... she connects things. People, places, things...

I've seen her bring friendships together between others that have lasted...

I've watched her advocate hard for adoption and bring children to their families...

I've witnessed her fight relentlessly for sponsorship for 200+ kids at a school in Ethiopia...

I've even watched her pour her heart and soul into building ministries - holding hands and walking people through doors and making introductions to establish organizations - only to have the doors slammed in her face...

Yet... she keeps on giving and connecting!

It's like her heart knows no other way!

This girl is sooooo willing to jump with me... into any and everything!

And she ALWAYS has my back.

She loves others and honors God while doing it like nobody else I have ever met.

And when it comes to her crew... she is relentless with her love.

You just ask any member of our camp!

Laura... you love others so well. Even when it means hurt for you. You connect and reconnect and give and support in such an amazing way.

I am beyond thankful that these last 2 years were here for us... painful at times but all about HIM the whole time!

I want to be like you when I grow up!

Thank you God for this mommy, wife, best friend and connector!

When Meron's Away...

... the siblings will play!

Meron is off on her second ever sleep over tonight... and while the dynamic around here is always different with the second "mom" out of the house, these two were getting along great!

Zechie begged and begged to be allowed to sleep in Meron's bed with Mebbie tonight and we caved in...

And while I know they're missing their bigger sis...

These two are enjoying each other right now!

Stay goofy you two... STAY GOOFY!

Her Turn

Usually it's her hawk-eyed sister Mebbie who is finding things laying around (coins, rocks, etc.) but today Meron found not one BUT TWO of the 719 Rocks painted rocks out there!

She was super stoked to tell me about it and excited to get her pics taken with her find!

And what a great couple of rocks to find too... great and true messages on both of them!

Good eyes Meron... GOOD EYES!

Which Ones Are The Yankees?

Up until today - there was one member of the camp who had never been to a Major League Baseball game...

But that all changed this evening when a generous friend gave us two tickets to go see the Rockies and the Padres go at it!

Somebody was SUPER STOKED!

we didn't get many pictures cuz I was busy answering a BILLION questions about the game such as:

"Which ones are the Yankees?"
but trust me when I say he had an absolute blast!

Thanks for the hook-up Bret...We will certainly be back!

Take me out to the ball game...

National Ice Cream Day

Ya know what today was?

Day 16 of Whole30 for me... that's what.

It just so happened to also be - NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY!

Those who know me well know that ice cream is my Kryptonite... my weakness.

And it didn't help that one of our local grocery stores dropped prices on ice cream and ice cream sandwiches down to next to nothing...

So after church... we HAD to go score some!

Like I told these cheering little ice cream lovers... I am STRONGER than food.

I really am... (I'll keep on saying it...)

But guess what August 1st is?

It's the first day I am off of Whole30 and it also happens to be NATIONAL BLUE BELL ICE CREAM DAY (declared right now by me).

It will be ON AND POPPING!

Happy Ice Cream-ing, guys!

Tucking It Away

I saw Mebski Love sitting at the table working super diligently on something this evening...

I eased in behind her to see what was going down and found her staring up at a piece of art we have hanging in the kitchen.

She was copying down the words from the piece of art on a piece of paper.

I could see her lips moving as she was reading it and writing it.

It was Romans 8:28 and she was steady tucking away His Word in her heart as she wrote it out and recited it!

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose. "
Be still my heart!

I learn so much from this precious Daughter of a Heavenly King!

Keep tucking it in your heart, Mebbie... keep tucking it!

One day you will certainly need it!

The "Best Ever" Award

Look... I know being married to me ain't a walk in the park... that's for sure!

I'm stubborn... competitive... bullheaded...

I'm probably honest to a fault - causing me to say stuff with little filter or check.

But this girl right here... she stands right beside me.

Through it all... right there with me and for me.

She absolutely deserves...

On the flip side - my fierce loyalty has me ready to have her back no matter what!

I don't say it enough - but I'm a blessed and privileged man to get to cruise through life with this gal by my side.

Thank you, Laura... for always being there!

Never Too Early

Around these parts - we're firm believers in the idea that it is NEVER TOO EARLY to have the goofballs start to understand good doctrine and good theology.

I mean... we're super honest and open with these guys... they know the struggle we've had the last year or so with church and leadership.

They've prayed specifically with us as a family - for discernment, for wisdom, for His will... (and can I just add what a humbling privilege it is to hear them seeking their father on those kinds of things? WOW!)

Nope... it is never too early.

I mean if we're being confronted with authoritarian leadership, bad theology, false teaching and lukewarm representation of the Word at our age... what more will they have to face down in their lives as they grow up chasing Him?

So - we talk about it around here... a lot.

And as we all sharpen our discernment as a family...

They treat us daily with their incredible smiles!

This crew knows that when it comes to His Word and the stuff we let in our heads and hearts... truth is all we're after!

Get behind us satan!

Ole Toothless Z-Dogg

I got a phone call from Zechie this morning while I was on my way to work:

"I lost my tooth daddy! It was just dangling so I had mommy just pull it right out!"
And sure enough - she did it!

He had been wiggling it and messing with it for weeks now and this morning...

He was one stoked little man!

His major concern was this:
"How will I eat? What if food comes right out that little hole?"
We assured him he would be just fine... it may have just been a well-timed ploy to get outta eating...

Tonight - the tooth goes in the tooth bowl and we see what kind of goods the Tooth Fairy brings by for him!

He was pretty pumped about that part of it all!

Keep smiling, toothless... KEEP SMILING!

New Park Inspection

This weekend - the first new park to open in Colorado Springs in like 15 years or something kicked its doors open - and it's not at all far from us!

And I happen to personally know three top notch park connoisseurs that were dying to check it out!

So after church - we packed up a lunch and hit the new park!

It covers 110 acres and a good chunk of that is a water park!

Were we in bathing suits?

Did that matter?

They took water directly to the face!

And they loved it...

And they looked amazing while doing it!

It was a crazy hot day in the sun so it felt PERFECT!

They rounded out their inspection with some climbing, some swinging, some scouting out the new fields and basically giving it a full on "kid test."

It passed with flying colors!

Oh... we'll be back new park! We'll be back!!
