Judged By Santa...

The adoption process is full of judging. A lot of it. You invite social workers in to your home - they judge your house, your ability to parent, your approach to discipline, your financial status. They pass their judgement on to your agency who then judges whether you qualify. You then fill out insane amounts of paperwork to be judged by US government agencies and foreign government agencies. And so on and so forth...

Don't get me wrong - I think it's wonderful. And I think EVERY parent should have to do the same type of intense self-examination and forward thinking. All that being said - I was pretty stoked today when we flew right through our GA re-adoption process with no problems! The final judging of us with Meron! No more judging! It's done!

She is now officially "MERON ASHER HOFFMAN" and will be getting a birth certificate in the mail soon. And what great people we had at the court house too. The law clerk was awesome and went WAY out of his way to help us with some stuff we hadn't filed and the judge was great... he looked like Santa and was just as friendly. He is a big GA Tech fan so Laura working there sat well with him - he was a big enough fan that he ran to get his Yellow Jackets hat for our picture!

Yeah for today! Judging is all behind us (well for now at least)...
