Reunion...

We were blessed by some out of town visitors this past Monday. Pretty good looking crew, huh? Lots of good times were had.

But the real excitement was right here...

Watching these two see each other. Because these two right here... well they have a cool story.

See - Masarya and Mebrate spent a good chunk of their lives together. In an orphanage in Ethiopia. They were buddies way before we came into the picture. Man was Mebrate excited to see her friend!

When they got here to the house and the door opened, Mebrate excitedly said:

"Hi Masarya!"
And Masarya looked right back at her and said:
"Hi Mama-lot!"
That was the nickname all the other kids had for Mebrate while she was in Ethiopia. Kids don't forget those kind of things.

The cheesy smiles had only just begun!

We got connected with this awesome family through their willingness to carry formula for Brighton Their World. Our agency contacted us and said they had a family willing to be a mule for us - so they took formula and visited our girl for us (Mebrate wasn't home yet).

Then we got the opportunity to pay them back and we visited Masarya while we were in country. And then - things got crazy and Masarya had a real long, real rough journey to get home. We were blessed with the privilege to pray for him and his family daily. and then celebrate like crazy when the news of his homecoming hit.

So yeah - these guys hold a special spot in our hearts for sure.

Of course Meron had to get her some big girl action with Masarya's big sister Lexi.

Way too soon it was time for them to hit the road and continue on their trip.

But I tell ya what - hours later when I got home from work - Mebrate was STILL wearing that smile. It's a special one - it has joy and happiness and familiarity written all over it.

Thanks God for reunions that only you could dream up...

Hi,
I found your blog through a couple of other blogs I keep up with and I just wanted to say thanks! Your blog is very inspiring to me. My husband and I are in the process of adopting two children from Ethiopia! We are in the immigration and praying process right now, and your blog keeps before my eyes the awesome things God does when he brings a family together.
I do have a question about a piece of art that I seen on your post from August 13, 2011. It is a beautiful canvas print on Mebrates bedroom wall. I would love to find something like this to hang in our daughter's room. Just wondering if you happened to remember where you got this from?
